Telecom Revenue for the period April to December of 2011 compared to the same period of 2010 and the share of BSNL in it


The revenue of the telecom services industry ( revenue of all telecom companies, PSUs or private, all included) has increased from Rs 1,41,923 crore for the period April to December 2012 to Rs 1,41,923 crore for the same period (April to December) in 2011. The increase was 11.84per cent. But the revenue of BSNL decreased from Rs 20253 crore to Rs 19711 crore during the same period. The decrease was 2.68  per cent.

In the revenue of BSNL, South zone contributed 33.5 per cent, West zone contributed 21.7 per cent, East zone 13.3 per cent and North zone 26.9 per cent. The revenue of BSNL during April 2011 to December 2011 when compared with the same period (April to December) in 2010, decreased by 11.3 per cent,1.1 per cent and 5.2 per cent in North, West and South Zones respectively whereas it increased by 1.9 per cent in case of East Zone.
